Troubled projects are not just projects that have been delayed in delivery although this is a key indicator of trouble. In this item we define a troubled project as one that has encountered any one or more difficulties such that the project does not meet its key requirements of fitness of purpose, delivery on time and within budgeted cost.
What separates a good PM from a great PM
Drive – The persistence or stamina to get things done. This is the fuel that makes us ask "what else needs to be done? What can cause me a delay? Approvals? Budget allocation? Design? etc. Drive keeps us focused on doing the things that will see us to the finish line, even if some of the lesser tasks get missed or relegated to "later" Without drive, everything becomes a chore instead of an action in the day's lineup. And when everything is a chore, only the absolute minimum gets done. Not a good scenario.
What are claims in projects?
When an entity or person experiences a loss that they believe was caused by another party, they may exercise their right to claim (i.e. demand) compensation from the party believed to have caused the loss. How do claims arise in projects?
