ABOUT US

We are a collective of very experienced, (some early and newly retired) engineering, construction, management, strategic planning and support professionals offering our services on a freelance basis to existing and future clients in the energy, petrochemical and construction sectors.

Our work configuration makes our wide array of industrial skills available to all plant and asset owners in Trinidad, Tobago and any other country in the Caribbean, North America or other countries. All of our senior team members each have in excess of 2 to 3 decades of busy work experience in their respective fields.

Our engagements can be 1 day to several weeks or months depending on availability of staff and client need. Our personnel will be initially based in Trinidad & Tobago and Ontario, Canada, and may grow to other locales depending on demand. The scope of services we offer is not limited to just technical knowledge, but we share freely, our ideas and experience with HR, Finance, Budget, Government and other issues. We have no political or other activist group affiliations.

WorkWise North America believes that engineering and technical knowledge should not just be about building and maintaining heavy industry, but where applicable, should be used to enhance our daily lives. To this end we will freely share our knowledge with our website visitors.

We will post articles that pertain to various topics in solving engineering and project management problems or issues. These articles will be based on real life projects, situations or research.

Our section on Consumer Tips is intended to apply engineering knowledge in cost effectively improving or benefitting the lives of those who read these tips or shared knowledge. Greater detailed knowledge of the things in our daily lives can help us achieve greater utility from our possessions, endeavours and activities.

SERVICES

1. Project management in petrochemical process plant retrofits, new mechanical or civil construction, and maintenance projects.

2. Provide strategies to rescue projects that have got into trouble and need assessment and recovery plans and implementation.

3. Oil and natural gas facility project and maintenance management

4. Construction/site management of mechanical, electrical Instrumentation, and civil works including rotating equipment installation and maintenance; pressure piping of metal, non-metal, above and underground pipes; industrial facility construction (warehouses, infrastructure facilities)

5. Qualitative design review and critique – fit for purpose, operational functionality, constructability, operations, maintenance, and safety concerns.

6. Site inspection and daily work oversight

7. Scope of work and contract specification preparation for tendering. Bid assessment.

8. Training (including on-the-job training) of less experienced project managers, and technicians.

9. Short-term labor supply (secondment) of very experienced management, engineering, technical, and other professionals.

We do not supply tradespeople at this time. Our work will typically be done on clients’ site facilities working with or without client personnel or virtually (from home bases) as required.

What separates a good PM from a great PM

Drive – The persistence or stamina to get things done. This is the fuel that makes us ask "what else needs to be done? What can cause me a delay? Approvals? Budget allocation? Design? etc. Drive keeps us focused on doing the things that will see us to the finish line, even if some of the lesser tasks get missed or relegated to "later" Without drive, everything becomes a chore instead of an action in the day's lineup. And when everything is a chore, only the absolute minimum gets done. Not a good scenario.

Speed Limit Fact Sheet
